BIO

Dave Osmundsen is a New Jersey based playwright and dramaturge. He holds a BA in Theatre Studies from Montclair State University. During his time at MSU, he was the proud director and dramaturge of many projects at MSU, from student-written works to department productions. Highlights include The Big Meal, Speak No Evil, How I Learned to Drive, Crush, and Stage Door. During the summer of 2013 he had the honor of attending the New Play Dramaturgy Intensive at the Kennedy Center. Outside of college, he worked in the literary offices of Abingdon Theatre Company and Florida Studio Theatre, and in the administrative offices of New Dramatists and Playscripts, Inc. He has written reviews for StageBuddy and TheatreIsEasy. In October 2014, he self-produced a reading of his play Distance at the Access Theatre in New York City. In spring 2015, his one-act, A Firework Unexploded, was selected to be a part of the Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s Spring One-Act Competition and the New American Theatre’s 2016 One Act Festival. In June 2016, his play Stupid, Fat, Ugly was a part of In the Water Theatre Company’s inaugural reading series.
